As we approached, you could see well that the Gothic arches, though broken in some places, still retained the majesty of the time and were capable of taking anyone's breath away. The vines had woven a green tapestry over the gray stone that created a beautiful contrast. There were small wildflowers peeking out of the crevices, which added a magnificent touch of color to the landscape. Best of all was the air. It smelled musty, piney, and magical.

At the end of it, a single structure loomed, a gothic mansion of dark stone and piercing spires that seemed to swallow the weak moonlight. A tall, iron-wrought gate stood ajar, as if expecting her. With a shiver that had little to do with the cold, she pushed it open. The groan of the hinges was swallowed by the storm. She hurried up the path, her heels clicking on the wet flagstones, and without even knocking, the massive oak door swung inward.

The cathedral loomed like a ruin stolen from a dark god itself—gothic and towering, its obsidian towers piercing the sky, its stained glass windows glinting crimson under the moonlight. Ivy curled like dark veins over the stone, and iron torches flared with blue fire at its entrance, casting shadows that moved like spirits. It was truly something worthy of the dark underworld and the Rossi's had prepared it perfectly. My heartbeat thrummed in my ears as we stepped out of the car, cloaked in night and secrecy.

Death would be preferable. He carries me over his shoulder again. We walk toward a building that you would expect to be owned by vampires. It’s dark, gloomy, and gothic looking. Gargoyles at the corners of what looks like an old castle. The only lights that I can see from inside look red and cruel, like what I’d expect in a low-class brothel. When we walk in, the screams that are coming from somewhere in front of me make my blood run cold. It’s the sound of pain and fear and death. Along with that sound is the sickening sound of lustful grunting, slurping and flesh being ripped apart presumably by sharp teeth.

The mansion loomed above, its towering spires and turrets reaching toward the sky like giant's fists. The facade was a masterful blend of Gothic and Victorian styles, with intricate stone carvings and stained glass windows that glinted like jewels in the sunlight. The building's walls seemed to stretch on forever, curving around a perfectly manicured lawn that was dotted with ornate fountains and statues. A sweeping staircase led up to the entrance, where a pair of massive wooden doors stood guarded by a pair of stone lions. The entire structure exuded an aura of opulence and refinement as if it had been plucked straight from the pages of a fairy tale.

I had prepared thoroughly and it still knocked the breath clean out of me when the car turned through the iron gates and I saw it properly for the first time. It was a manor, dark stone and tall windows, surrounded by old trees that stood bare and skeletal against the winter sky. Snow covered the grounds in an unbroken sheet of white. The whole thing looked like something pulled from a gothic novel, beautiful and severe and faintly threatening, like it had been designed specifically to remind visitors that they did not belong here. The front door opened before I reached it.

Lilith’s Pov The building in front of me had this dark, almost ethereal aura. Tall and imposing, but elegant too. The outside was sleek black stone with intricate designs etched into the walls. It gave off a modern gothic aesthetic, the kind that whispered power and mystery. Killian guided me toward it, his fingers still loosely wrapped around mine.

She turned around to run back inside the mansion— "One!" He said, starting a countdown and she faced him real quick, walked towards him and entered the car. "Good girl." He praised, patting her head. [ La Serenità Manor ] Mansions are modern and flashy, manors are old-world and money. The difference had a whole lot to explain to us, but La Serenità did the talking. From the antique furnitures to the wooden staircase, the ornate rugs, the chandelier hung up on high ceilings. Everything was screaming the gothic vibe. It became much clear that the owner of the house was a true gothic enthusiast cause of the shadowy paintings adorning the wall.

FLORENCE’S POV The car slowed, tires crunching over gravel as we turned into a long, tree-lined driveway. Through the gaps in the thick woods, I caught glimpses of what looked like an old, sprawling estate. And then it came into full view: a classic English-style villa, tucked away like something from a gothic novel. Stone façade, ivy creeping up the sides, dark windows that reflected nothing. It was beautiful in the way a haunted house was beautiful—elegant, timeless, and absolutely terrifying.
