I wasn’t sure I could trust him anymore.
The same uneasy feeling I had been having about Janet, the same suspicion, I could feel it now when I looked at Jade.
And that scared me more than I wanted to admit.
“The creature you seem so attached to,” he continued, his lips curling into a faint, cold smile, “do you even know his name?”
I didn’t answer, I shoved my hands into my pockets, hiding the way my fingers curled tightly into fists.
“Fenrir,” he said, drawing the name out slowly. His smile widened just a little. “That’s his name.”
