You and Mother were away visiting Aunty at Yellow Gem.” Brady paused as I nodded my head in the positive. “I do remember.” “Good,” he continued, and I could tell what he was about to say next was too heavy for him to utter because Brady looked away, and I could see sadness fill his eyes. He then found the courage to look back at me and said, “I had done something I should not have during the attack on our pack. But I did it to save my soldiers and our people.”

He was obviously a trained fighter. Brady yelled, "Kill him!" Kruz Torres, an expert he had bought with a hefty sum from North Tuzela, was his best subordinate. Kruz had been helping Brady carry out the dirty work all these years. He had protected Brady many times.

Bev said, chewing on one of her fingernails. After a few packages of crackers, several juices, and some pain medication, Brady was soon standing again, but he didn’t seem quite himself. Even Charles had started feeling sorry for the guy. Brady looked so sad, like he had failed. If anyone tried to talk to him or cheer him up, he just scowled and moved away.

I set my plate on the counter next to me before I focused my attention closer to the screen trying to hear every detail.
