FEYRE “What?” I stutter out. Alpha Lucien stands straighter. “I know a lot of people, Feyre, and it would be easy to track them. Just give me your word. Just a month, be the luna and give my son his heir. Then you can leave with your information and my son can have a semblance of normalcy in his life,” I shake my head. It sounds too good to be true.

I watch, wary but curious, as the revenant kneels beside Fyre, who lies propped up on rag-stuffed pillows, her breath thin but peaceful for the first time in days. It—he, now, perhaps—speaks in low, lilting tones, telling Fyre stories of old times and older places. Of nights when the moon was red and wolves danced in the snow, of witches who wove their hearts into stones to keep their people safe. Fyre listens, eyelids fluttering, sometimes offering a story in return: of her childhood in the wild lands, of her daughter’s laughter (Aradia, though she does not name her), of mistakes she wishes she could undo.

The architecture was marvelous, the pillars holding strong for over a century with only a few renovations needed to uphold it. I didn’t spare the decorations too much glance, my mind occupied with Golran and what plans he had for Feyre both in the short and long term. I hope they were as noble as I suspected because otherwise, I would have to ruin almost two hundred years of peace established between Vampires and Direwolves. Feyre might be his granddaughter, but until she was strong enough to stand on her own, she was under my protection. I would let no one— friend, foe, or family— bring harm of any kind to her.

Answering Freyge’s earlier question, he asked him, “How do you know, I was looking for something specific?” Freyge chuckled, “I have spent more time being a mage than a werewolf, though I am only learning potion brewing for now. The archon allows me to tinker and be helpful in healing all the werewolves instead of the fighting because she knows I am too weak to fight. Coming back to your question, I know that look when you want to search for something and are so close to finding it, but it evades you.” Calhoun chuckled at that. First, he had wanted to shoo Freyge away and concentrate on his work but now that he was here, he wouldn't mind having an extra helping hand.

The enchanted piece shimmered faintly as he whispered a spell, summoning the reflection of his second in command, the Veilkeeper of the Nightshade Coven, Lyca. "Any update, Lyca?" He asked as her face appeared in the fragment. Lyca was a powerful witch and also the successor to his position whenever he decided to step down. She had short dark hair, ivory skin and pretty baby blue eyes. Lyca nodded enthusiastically, grinning from ear to ear. "And they're all good news, Archon. The Ice Fairies contacted us. They said Prince Ludiciel is safe but heavily injured and they're going to do all they can to save him."

The gentleman takes a deep breath and exhales with a loud sigh, “Well, since you have this half-breed here, I guess I will help you out.” We looked at him confused, “How could you tell that she’s a half-breed?” Ares asked. “Because I am the infamous Draco Pendragon.
