Vale stood up, his eyes bright with the power of the Alpha King were staring at the now blue and green mass that was flowing like liquid mirror. My eyes widened as a Fey stepped out of the portal.

Ecstatic that I was finally here, I examined my homeway’s beautiful arch as I heard Caspian behind me. “Darling, I do not see anything here.” Caspian said, causing me to turn around as I had forgotten they did not have Faye Sight for a moment. “Oh, right. No Faye sight,” I said, looking to Serena, Maurice, and Caspian. “It’s a bit tricky to explain, but this archway is only visible to those with Faye blood. It’s a protective measure.” Serena stepped closer, her eyes narrowing as she tried to see what I was seeing. “So, it’s like a magical barrier?” She asked.

The sky above shimmered like living silk — ribbons of teal, purple, and silver crossing each other like dancing auroras. Crystals sprouted out of the earth like frost-grown flowers, lighting every path with soft luminescence. Music drifted from floating platforms, each carrying musicians sculpting sound from instruments made of wind and glass. The entire palace rose at the center — carved from blackstone veined with blue fire, tall spires reaching the aurora sky like fingers touching heaven. Kira smiled at Jenna’s awe. “It can be overwhelming the first time,” she said. “But this night is special. The Solstice of the First Light… it marks the first spark of magic ever given to the Fae.”

In the center of the ring, a single, gargantuan Sol-Core—the Grand Emperor’s Star—began to descend. The sky turned a blinding, terrifying white. The "Permanent Noon" of the Divide was replaced by something far worse: the Solar Veil. Rivers of liquid starlight flowed through streets paved with something that looked like opal but was harder than diamond. It was breathtaking. It was terrifying. And at its center stood the Palace of Eternal Dawn, the seat of Fae power for ten thousand years. The palace was a masterpiece of architecture that defied physics. Walls of pure crystal caught and refracted light into rainbows that painted every surface. Columns carved from single pieces of moonstone stretched hundreds of feet high, supporting domes that seemed to float without any visible support. The cover was made of stones, it was like a concrete stone that covered almost half of the well, serving as an altar where Feyre poured blood in. She grinned as she took a small dark bottle and poured a little bit of liquid on the top of the altar and the inlet. The transparent liquid flowed from the top of the altar and passed through the various inlets into the well. "He will be ready soon" Another female's voice came and Feyre smiled at the woman who was standing close to the door. "My queen" The lady bowed to Queen Feyre who was putting on a black gown and a skeleton-looking crown on her head, a crown made of bones, her ears were thin but had edges that stretched forward.

**** **THE WOODED RING – JUST OUTSIDE RAVEN’S PEAK – DAWN** The clearing had been untouched for years. Kael called it the “Ring of Breath.” A natural circle of stones in the woods where the trees stood back just enough to let the sun pour through, uninterrupted. It was quiet here, but not empty. This was where Ember began her first rite. “Stand barefoot,” Kael instructed. “Let the skin of your soles remember.” She obeyed, stepping out of her boots and standing where the grass met moss. The morning air was cold and clear, the light catching on the silver thread of her hair like spun moonlight.

Our fingers intertwined, our rings brushing past each other. A vibration went past our ring fingers. We parted and looked at our rings that were glowing. The green light from my emerald ring united with the iridescent white, blue rainbow-ish light of his moonstone ring. The light scattered into thousands of scintillas that fluttered like stars around us. The scintillas flocked around Zephyr, settling on his body. His body started glowing. I shut my eyes from the light. Once the light settled, I slowly opened my eyes that widened.
