"The place where every unfinished story is abandoned." The room became still. The woman frowned. "A place can't move." "No," the First Reader replied quietly. "It isn't a place anymore." "It became... hungry." The bright point continued drifting across the map. Each line it consumed vanished forever. Adrian watched several glowing paths disappear. "What happens to those stories?" The White Book answered before anyone else could. Fresh words appeared across its pages. They are forgotten before they are ever imagined. A chill ran through the room. The boy slowly closed the nameless notebook.

Rhae slowly walked towards the bookshelf off to the side of the room and began skimming the titles. "Tales of Fae," Aynyra grinned, crossing her legs in the bed like a toddler. Rhae pulled the book off the shelf, examining the repeatedly broken spine and the clear wear and tear on the cloth-covered binding. "A children's book?" Rhae questioned peering at the title. Aynyra chuckled, "It's not a children's book, it's based on history. It's fact." Rhae walked over to the bed laughing, "It's myth Aynyra, don't tell me you believe in the Fae."

“The one about the lonely princess and the dragon who took her away.” “That one’s sad, honey. Let’s read something happier.” I reached for the book on my nightstand, a massive, leather-bound volume of classic fairy tales that I kept handy for nights like this. I opened it to a random page, settling on a story about a mischievous tooth fairy. My voice was soft and dramatic as I began to read. “...and the fairy, with a flick of her tiny tooth-shaped wand, transformed the hunter’s prize-winning hound into a perfect little frog...”

So it wouldn't take long for the police to locate us and try to finish that mission as soon as possible. The little boy opened a small shabby and old book, in which the green cover was already totally covered with dust and some leaves exhibited a yellowish tone. I had the impression that I was seeing my old books from the time I went to church, where Bible stories mixed to explain the existence of God. I became even more believed that that situation was the same, because he opened the story on a page where a snake stuck in an apple tree tree appeared.

Aiden and I sat in between Leo and Zoey’s bed. I was holding their favorite storybook, my fingers gently traced the familiar cover. The story In the book is a tale about brave wolves protecting their pack, it’s a story of strength, courage, and family love. I could feel him open up to me upon hearing my confession. “Believe me…” I murmured. “I know better than anyone how you must feel.” He gazed at me. “It’s no way to live, isn’t it?” I huffed a short, awkward laugh in response, focusing my full attention back on stacking the books. This time, the titles caught my attention, ranging from the history of our kingdom to the customs, cultures, and histories of our neighbors: the Vixens and the Bear-Shifters. And then there was one book in particular about something that I had never heard of before… nothing like anything Father ever discussed or that I’d read of in fairytales.
