Fictional Animals Novels & Stories

she said, her voice a low whisper. I nodded slowly, knowing that it sounded stupid. “It’s just a thought, but-” “Well, you can definitely not be a werewolf,” she added, giggling. “But maybe you were part of a people who liked calling themselves a pack.” I highly doubted that. “Maybe. What’s a werewolf?” She gave me a surprised look, then sighed, remembering that I also had partial amnesia with words. “They're a fictional bunch- meaning they're imaginary- of people said to be able to transform into wolves. They're very popular in fiction novels. I also heard...”

Gentlemen and Ladies welcome to a world that apparently is very similar to yours. Here we have all the big cities and all the big states too. But we also have some things more, and it is not the dragons, vampires and werewolves you are thinking about. I am talking about the oddly things. Boys that never grow, invisible men, and cats in boots. You know which place all those figures appears. Welcome to fairy tales world, this is the antics of Bia's crew.

All he knew was he wanted to leave the cold, cramped, and damp space and get some sun. He paused a few feet out of the cave, his confusion growing. All around him were gawking creatures. They weren't toms. If anything they looked like the mythical Hares from the storybooks he used to read. He couldn't hear what all of them were saying but he could make out the few who were standing closest. He started to stand up but a whip came out of nowhere and stung the back of his legs. "None of that now. Filthy toms stay on all fours."

Time seemed to be moving more slowly as we drew nearer to the water beneath us. 3. Winning my sixth grade spelling bee... I tried blocking out the excruciating pain screaming at me in my ear, every second we were plunging further and further down. 4. Art classes with Miss Miller... The blocking worked and I felt the contact with the water as our car fell in. 5. Bedtime stories with my grandmother... I jerked forward at the impact it created 6. Becoming class president in fourth grade... The impact was so strong I could feel my neck crack as it got jerked back.

I tried to make my question sound as normal as I could manage. "Oh, you mean alien forms?" Alyssa asked. "No!" I said, "I'm talking about the creatures living in the same planet like us." "Oh, like the elves and dwarfs?" Cammie prompted. At that point, I had to keep myself from falling off of the bench. I guess I would rather talk to a tree instead of these two genius girls. "That's fictional characters, Cammie," I said. "So you tell us then," she said.

Was the Earthstalker a creature of myth, a ghost story whispered by the wind? Just as despair began to creep in, a twig snapped in the distance. Gandal's heart hammered against his ribs as a blur of brown fur shot through the undergrowth. The Earthstalker, a magnificent creature with the body of a rabbit and the head of a cat, emerged onto the bank, its amber eyes glowing with an eerie intelligence.

werewolves simply get everything, isn't that right? When we arrive at the school, I have a flood of inquiries to pose to him. "Where are the other extraordinary animals?" I test, my voice addressing. He smiles. "A Dusk fan?" "No. In any case, I've found out about winged serpents and pixies and stuff like that," I honestly say. His grin augments.

With a faint frown on my face, I regard the large bird perching on my shoulder, “Hey, that’s no friendly greeting at all” Am I Snow White from the human fairytales? Not sure. From a little age, I’ve loved animals to the point where my family often made jokes I must’ve been some animal spirit in a past life or something. And it’s crazy how they consent to such belief too. Just that I’m yet to fulfill my wishful dream of someday having the ability to communicate with them. We still make do, anyway. “Today was such a tiring school day...” I report my day to them as always, wading branches out my path along my approach to the river.

She would love nothing more than for her small family to get better. Thinking about the noise, she surmised that maybe, someone had ridden past and was now gone. Maybe it was a Tikbalang? she even thought gamely. Tikbalang was a local mythical creature that was a mix of horse and man in physical features. She had never felt one or been scared of anything inside the hacienda, though. Ever. She closed the window and as she passed the living room, she bent down to kiss her brother on the top of his head.

My teeth stretch, pricking my bottom lip. It feels like…home. My paws sink into the grass as I take off across the yard. Beside me, a black fox darts between the bushes, bounding over the stone path. Tristan’s emerald eyes catch mine in silent glee. Our spirit animals are bigger than their natural counterparts, with Tristan’s fox nearly as big as any wolf. “Hey!” Cain’s voice roars across the front yard, but it’s too late.
