What the hell is wrong with him? As I slump on the bed, the tears I've been fighting back finally find their way down my cheeks, and I didn't bother to stop it anymore, because it hurts so much. It's the only way I can tell the world how pained I am, so why fight it back?

EVA My face stung and I blinked quickly, desperately trying to stem the tears that had filled my eyes, threatening to make an appearance. I will not cry. I will not cry. I will not cry. "No, I can't let this happen." The tears stopped flowing and my resolve became cold and unyielding. I couldn't just back down. I couldn't let them win. My fight had shifted beyond myself to take back my existence and reveal their grotesque lies. The initial action I understood I needed to take was to tear down their meticulously created reality.

She blinked at me, a little stunned. “I’m not crying anymore, I swear,” she added with a sniffle trying to sound brave. I tightened my grip on her shoulder. “Tears of grief!” I shouted. The moment I named it, the tear shimmered with power. The pain she had felt, the heartbreak, the fear of losing me it transformed into a luminous barrier of water between us and the dark flames.
