Fighting Back The Tears Novels & Stories

I cry for them. The warm golden glow begins to grow out of Trev as more of my tears fall on him. And it dawns on me. My tears, they can heal. My body, my mind, my soul, can harm and kill in an instant. But, my tears, can save the wounded, mend the broken. My empathy can be the salvation. I can just as easily kill as I can cure. So, I cry some more. The more I cry, the faster his wounds stitch back together. Color returns to his face and his eyes open to look at me as if I am an angel. Trev reaches a hand up and holds my face as my tears keep streaming down.

My knees slolly weakened as I tried to suppress my tears. I don't want him to see how miserable I am in front of him, but I couldn't stop my emotions from exploding. My tears fell and my shoulders slowly shook. Because of embarrassment and fear, I dropped my head down to hide my face. The toughness in my eyes were already gone. I am tired of fighting. I wanted to yell and cry about how unfair everything is for me. I grab Aaron’s shoulder and sobbed till I felt weak, till I felt every bit of fight slowly leave my body. “It’s fine baby, it’s fine. Let it all out.” Aaron murmurs, still rubbing my back. My tears has now been reduced to hiccups. I leaned away from his hug.

Breath shaking. “What happened to your face? Did you fight a beast?” The sound of her voice spiked heat in my eyes and I struggled to hold back the tears. One thing I hated about tears was that they fell only when I didn't need them to. I sniffed softly, trying to hold back the tears and from the look in her eyes, I could tell she noticed it. “Come here, child.”

You said it many times, but you never kept your word.” His lips trembled as he said “never kept my word.” The curve of his lower lip shifted from being tightly pressed together to a slight downward bend—a sign that he was about to cry. But his eyes didn’t shed tears. His tear glands were producing tears under the stress of his emotions, but the muscles around his eyes were resisting desperately, keeping the tears from flowing out.

I hated my situation and I hated being anywhere near him. Bitter tears of helplessness burned the corners of my eyes and my lips trembled. I sniffed, trying my best to suppress back the tears that threatened to escape. A tear still slipped down my face.
