~CODY~ My phone buzzed with a message from Rain, sending my heart into a sudden race. I scanned the table for any sign of him, but he was nowhere in sight. The message on my screen illuminated with anticipation: "Meet me inside the forest - Rain." Excitement and curiosity ignited within me. Without hesitation, I pocketed my phone and headed towards the edge of the woods. "Rain," I called out when I couldn't spot him. "Here" A whisper reached me from behind, and before I could react, strong arms wrapped around me. Rain's lips pressed against my neck, and laughter escaped me—a delightful surprise.

They took us unawares. My heart clenches at the thought of Rain and I begin skimming through the bodies on the ground. I maneuver over the broken chairs, tables, and glasses, looking out for my Luna. “Lester, help me find Rain!!” I order my beta. I try all I can not to let this sorrow numb my legs from moving. Rain just can't be dead. Instead of sorrow, I let revenge fill me up and I search tirelessly for her. She must be somewhere, I tell myself while I look.

For a brief second, I froze, feeling the rain beat against my skin like it was punishment. Have I been discovered?

The wind howls, and lightning splits across the sky. Raindrops stick to my lashes causing it hard to see anything without blinking a bunch of times. Max is behind a tire, kicking rocks and mud away from the divot. Holding my arm above my head I walk toward him. "Did you find the problem?" I holler above the storm.

She then walked slowly on the cold sand remembering the beautiful and cherishful moments she spent there as she heard a boy singing a song a little far from her.
