Rise of the Phoenix Wolf
I rolled my eyes, though the corner of my mouth tugged upward.
“Alright,” I said, squaring my stance. “Let’s see who hits closer to the mark.”
The fire in my hands flared in response, eager and alive, waiting for my next command.
The first fireball began large but shrank down until it was barely the size of an apple. The next grew to the size of my head, burning with soft golden light. The last one was larger, heavier, humming with power. It hovered before me like a miniature sun. The heat rolled over my skin, but it didn’t hurt. It obeyed.
