You promised!” I watch the fire climb higher, devouring his clothing until the bottom half of his body smokes. He screams. “If only you’d granted my parents the same right,” I say. Samuel’s eyes turn red as the fire consumes him. He fights against the cuffs in an attempt to free himself, but without the strength of his wolf, he has no hope. I wait and watch until the last of the inferno crawls up his face, and the screams eventually stop. The fire dies down, smothered by the cold of the cavern floor, leaving his charred remains behind.
