“Bonnie or Tyson?” “I am!” Tyson announced from the back. He was bouncing up and down, too. Bonnie laughed. For the first time in months, she wasn't afraid of going into the city. The mob had found her. The terrible thing she'd been running from for the past few months had happened. And she'd survived. She felt like she could take on the world. “I don't know, Tyson,” Bonnie said, turning around in her seat. “I'm pretty excited.” “I'm super excited,” Tyson assured. He crossed his arms. “Super duper totally excited.”

Bruce. Oriel and Bonnie, stills hiding outside the slightly opened door, listening to their conversation, were having a little talk of their own. "How long is this person going to irritate my dad?" demanded Bonnie, furiously, "Miss, don't you think that he is a total crackhead?" Bonnie didn't hear any answer from her Miss and she looked above herself, at the face of Oriel. "Miss!" Oriel's face remained expressionless, she was so immersed in his solemn speech that she no longer tried to control Bonnie. The latter saw the chance and rushed inside the cabin, calling out to her dad, jumping upon him like a monkey. "Dad!"

“Where.” Kris answered fast. “Halden House. The atrium. Cameras live there all day. Business people, society people, reporters pretending they’re not reporters.” Winnie frowned. “That’s a lot.” Freeda swung her legs off the bed. “He told the world we were still committed while I was asleep. That’s a lot.” Scott looked at her. “No touching.” Freeda glanced at him. “No touching.” “Understood,” Scott said. By two thirty, Freeda was dressed. She wore a black dress, her hair in a ponytail, and no jewelry that meant anything. Winnie fussed with her collar, as if she were angry with the fabric.

"We'll make it a night to remember, Elena. Just you wait." I grinned, feeling a sense of joy and connection that I hadn't experienced in a long time. This was what friendship was all about – sharing laughter, adventures, and making memories together. As we parted ways, Bonnie and I made plans for our girls' night out. I couldn't wait to see what the evening would bring. That night, Bonnie picked me up from Alex's place, and we headed to a trendy bar in the city. We laughed and chatted, sipping cocktails and dancing to the music. It felt like no time had passed at all, and we easily fell into our old rhythm.

I wiped my face, glad I hadn’t done my makeup yet. “Are you nervous?” I asked. Damien nodded, not bothering to look up from his phone. Bonnie bursted into the room. The bright magenta of her dress was an eyesore. “Daddy, please zip my dress.” She was bouncing as she admired her reflection. “Hold still, Bonnie.” Damien was struggling. I imagined the zipper breaking and felt immediate guilt. Bonnie may have looked like she was imitating a certain purple dinosaur, but she was happy. “I can help.” I moved toward them.

I wanted to be free. Then, the final night came. The pain was too much for her, she said. She begged me to help her end it. It was the perfect excuse. I used a pillow. Quick and quiet. No blood this time. I carried her frail body to the backyard well under a starless sky. The rope creaked as I lowered her down. She splashed softly into the water. I waited until dawn, expecting to wake up to a clean slate, to a new beginning.

Five minutes later Melody comes out the gate with Papa Charley, along with an extra few guards. Bonnie had gotten out of the car to stretch her legs. When she saw Melody she ran toward her, “Melody, I’ve missed you so much.” Papa Charley stepped in front of Melody and won’t let Bonnie touch her. Melody put her hand on his shoulder, “Papa Charley, it’s okay. This is Bonnie, my best friend for life.” She squeezed passed him to hug Bonnie. “I’ve missed you too. How did you find me?”

Bonnie reassured me, practically glowing with anticipation as she led me away. Along the way, I noticed her sneakily texting Rina: "Everything's going smoothly. Wendy drank the wine. I'm taking her to the lounge now. In 10 minutes, you can bring everyone in." Bonnie finally took me into the lounge, settling me down on the sofa. Her voice dropped, laced with malice. "Wendy, you just stay here and 'rest well.'" "Stop right there!" Bonnie froze, instinctively turning back. I stood up, fixing her with a piercing gaze, no longer looking weak and powerless like before.

I retorted. Bonnie frowned as he took his phone out from his waistcoat's pocket. He did a few taps with his fingers before passing the phone to me and he said, "My man captured this video of Regina and Frederick. Frederick is getting intimate with Regina." What? What the hell is happening? I took the phone in my hands. I saw several naked men attacking Regina. Bonnie said, "Those naked men were there to attack Regina. But Frederick rescued her. If he had the motive to harm Regina, he wouldn't have saved her."

Richard stands between Benny and me while Dylan offers a hand and Bonnie takes it to help her stand up. “She was a child. How could you?” Benny shouts again and I look at Bonnie, that has a tear rolling down her face as she looks at me. This is on me, and I can accept that. I had sex with her when she was eighteen and she will always be a kid in Benny’s eyes. She is his baby sister. “It happened,” I say, and his eyes go wild as Richard looks at me. I can’t tell him that she came looking for me. I can’t tell him how it really happened. I rather take the blame for everything that drags Bonnie with me or makes him hate her.
