Joana found a large blue book one day titled ‘the council of five.’ She didn’t know if it was the right one, but she hoped it would be as she felt her eyes were going to fall out any moment over the countless number of texts she had to read for the past few months before she was able to find this one.

His voice was thick with an undeniable sadness, but I just turned and walked away, my expression cold. He was once my future, but now he was just a stranger I was cutting out of my life. My younger brother is getting married, and my family is forcing me to return I have arranged with Carla for me to stay in my old house and for someone to take care of Raven while I attend the engagement ceremony and the wedding which will take at least two months to complete. During these five years I have become one of the top trauma surgeons in London. I have arranged to work in the trauma department at a private hospital in California while I am there for the next few months.

Not even a ‘happy birthday’ kiss this morning. Chris, oblivious, shrugged and followed me into the room. Dylan sent the poor maid away, and Jessica had thought the maid did something wrong, but the maid was innocent. Dylan insisted that Jessica must cook his food and spend time with their kids, and Jessica happily did all that if it would make their marriage work and please Dylan. Yet, Dylan was filing for divorce now. Jessica cried, "No, Dylan! I cannot divorce you. After five years of marriage, no! This cannot be happening to us." Dylan paused and replied, "Just sign the divorce papers and leave, Jessica! I'm not the first man to divorce his wife, and I won't be the last."

Chapter 11 Five years later Sarah Sarah stood at the kitchen island, flipping golden pancakes on the griddle while the morning sun streamed through the tall windows of their spacious apartment.
