I frowned. “You don’t think this will be too formal?” I asked. She had said that there was some local band playing tonight, and even if there was going to be dancing, I was sure it wouldn’t be, like, ballroom dancing. Of course, the dress looked simple. Annabelle probably didn’t realize that it likely cost more than her monthly salary.
“Not with these,” Annabelle said, digging through her closet and coming out with electric-green flats and a matching necklace.
