I ask, keeping my eyes on the girl and somewhat ignoring the mother.
“I’m Leonora, Luna. But mommy just calls me Nora.”
“Oh!” I look at the mom with a tender look. “What a pretty name for a pretty girl. Is that flower for me, Nora?”
“Yes! You and the Alpha. I plucked it myself.” She hands me the flower, and I immediately smell it.
“Mmh, this is the best flower I have ever smelled. It smells like love.”
“It does?!” Nora’s eyes widened with surprise and happiness. “Mommy! My flower smells like love!” She exclaimed with excitement, and the mother laughed with tears running down her cheek. She crouches down beside her daughter.
