I was gonna throw up and I would I turned to leave, but a hand gripped my wrist. “Let go,” I snapped, trying to yank my arm away. The second man chuckled, stepping even closer, his breath hot against my cheek. “Don’t worry, sweetheart. It’ll be worth your time… when all of your holes are filled.”

She stated and turned away, ordering her guards to throw me out of the premises. I watched, dazed and humiliated as the gate closed in my face, snickering voices whispered around me. I walked back to my car, my brain on overdrive as I processed what had just happened. As I turned on the car engine, ready to drive away, I noticed Florida and her assistant coming down from a black SUV. A middle aged man stepped down behind them, his hands snaking around Florida's waist as he kissed her cheeks. My eyes blurred and my fist clenched against the steering wheel as I watched her assistant drag her suitcase into the mansion.

Spring Break Adventures in Florida The Florida sun was high, and the laughter of tourists filled the air as Sade walked down Main Street in Magic Kingdom with Isla, Madison, Eric, Marcus, and her parents. The energy was electric, but Sade’s focus wasn’t entirely on the magic of Disney—it was on her phone. Every few minutes, her screen lit up with a new notification: Marco: “Look at this meme. The man muttered as he rubbed the back of his head, which was hurting. "Ask her. She is Ronald's woman. She must know this." The tattooed man angrily pouted his mouth at Elizabeth, who was not far away. Hearing that, the yellow hair man hurriedly stood up, walked to Elizabeth and kicked her, "Hey, I need to ask you something." Elizabeth opened her eyes and looked at him. Her eyes were filled with fear. "Do you know what kind of enmity Mr. Flores has with that Mr. Marquez?" He asked.

"Oh, no, I let her go. It would have been a crime to kill something so beautiful just for a wall decoration. At least, I think so. But I have some great photos." He linked his phone to the T.V. and spent the next twenty minutes showing us all the pictures from his trip. We saw alligators in the everglades, manatees floating in the gulf, and, of course, the famous blue marlin. He also showed us pictures of the many different foods he'd tried while in Florida, of course. That, combined with the increasing aroma of Miss Winifred's jambalaya, was making me very hungry.

It’s as if the sun has dipped behind a thick cloud cover and the sky has gone charcoal. Only they haven’t. It is a bright, unseasonably cool, spring day in Florida. The parking lot is packed, populated by moms and nannies with their kids of all ages on spring break before Easter. I hear laughter, a gull calling; I smell the salt from the Gulf of Mexico. But inside I am quaking. There’s cool black ink in my veins.

“I know, Florida. I'm aware of the consequences. But what can I do? Spencer's got the upper hand now.” Florida's anger turned to contempt. “Useless man!” She muttered, shaking her head. She mumbled a few more insults under her breath before she took out her phone and dialled a number. “Who are you calling?” Florida's expression turned cold. “I'm going to fix this. I'm going to make sure Spencer doesn't ruin everything we've worked for!” She put the phone to her ear, waiting for someone to answer. “Hello, is this Mark? I need a seat on the Good Morning show, ASAP. Yes, it's about the Spencer Anthony story. I have a plan, and I need to go live.”
