Found Aria The photograph sat on Caden’s screen and neither of us said anything for a moment. An old man in Florida. Alive. The doctor who had signed a false certificate eleven years ago, found within hours by someone who clearly had resources and motivation, and the message underneath made my stomach twist. My hand went to my mouth, covering it as I drew a shaky breath. "Oh, my god!"

I whisper to Ethan. "Don't worry about that, okay? We've got you." Ethan assures me, pulling me into his side as we approach the front. "Well, well, well. Look what we have here." Christy says loudly to the man at the front to check the IDs."Christy Felts. Do my eyes deceive me? What the hell are you doing on this side of the nation, girl?" The broad man asked, his accent thick. It sounds like he isn't from Florida, but more like from Texas. It's a Southern accent.

The smile on Sapphire's features gradually die down as she notes the features on his face were not so welcoming and the next words he spoke deracinated the soil from under her feet. He declared to her without speculating, putting his hands inside his pant pockets in a dare to counter him.

I thought I’d die if I had to go there. The Sikh man asked if he could get out for the bathroom, and the guy on the aisle and I both stood up. It was a good chance to stretch my legs, if nothing else. The other guy and I made idle chatter while we waited. He was a marketing manager from Coral Springs, one of the far western suburbs of Fort Lauderdale, going to New York for a week of meetings. “At least it’s not too cold up north,” he said. “I’ve been in Florida twenty years now. My blood’s thinned out.”

In the background a slurry male voice with a thick Florida accent goes on about the lack of evidence, the similarities between cases. I turn it off quickly; this is the last thing I need to hear right now.
