Something told me, if I tried to get the dancing flower on video, it would stop.
The sound of footsteps coming through the woods from the direction of Raven’s house made me look up. I felt the flower drop into my palm and knew whatever magic had been at work, it was gone now. Not sure what else to do, I shoved the flower into my pocket and waited for whomever was coming through the trees to become visible. I assumed it was Raven, but when a pair of men’s boots and jeans became visible around the edge of the bushes, I knew it wasn’t. I looked up and smiled at a familiar, yet unexpected face.
“Hi, Harlow,” Joshua said, smiling back at me. “What are you up to?”
