Steam rose in thick plumes from the marble tub in the private chambers that now belonged to Ruby. Four handmaidens worked in absolute silence, their heads bowed low, not daring to make eye contact with the woman who was about to become their Luna. They scrubbed her skin with essential oils of sandalwood and wild rose, washing away the lingering scent of last night’s hunt. Ruby let them work. She stood motionless as they rinsed her silver hair until it shimmered like spun silk.

Ed had to comfort Ruby with a proposal—something that couldn't be repeated. "Yes." Ruby nodded, barely able to speak. It was difficult for her to feel pity or sadness, but when she saw Liz wiping tears from her face, Ruby froze. Sympathy. It was difficult not to feel sympathetic when those tears were on a face so similar to her own. Ruby understood immediately. Liz possessed only Esli, just as she possessed only Jade. Ruby would be devastated if their places were reversed and Jade was lying there. Ruby approached, knelt down, and placed a bouquet of white lilies she had brought. It stood out among the red roses. She had picked the flowers at random earlier.

Kim clenched her teeth in annoyance as she glared at how Jaxon tightened his hold around Ruby and pulled her impossibly closer. “Yes Kim, maybe we can go together next time,” Ruby added with a sweet smile as Jaxon led her out of the room. Ruby happily took in her surroundings as Jaxon helped her walk through the wide expanse of the house. They walked through the garden and Ruby felt her insides melt as the sweet scent of different flowers wafted through the air. She smiled as they passed through the arrays of daisies, roses, and daffodils that danced gracefully in the gentle breeze.

His reverie was interrupted when she turned around to face him. "Prince Aurelius, you're finally here." she smiled. Too formal. He thought but didn't point it out and only replied with his own smile. "Hello, Ruby. Sorry, I'm a bit late. Here I got you this." he said before handing her the bouquet of middlemist red, that is the rarest and most expensive plant he could find in the empire.

Chapter 1: "Save Me," ───── ❝ T H I R D P E R S O N ' S P O V ❞ ───── "Fuck off, you bastards!" With her crimson hands grappling on the steering wheel, Ruby silently cursed while glancing at her rear view mirror. Her bloodshot orbs was now wide opened, tears dangerously dangling within its edges. Her once enchanting face had bruised all over, and her whole body were tremendously shaking.

A white rose lay on the floor dripping with blood. A small, shiny blade lay beside it. A beautiful object in such a terrible and painful condition. The blood stain on it did not hide it's immaculate and beautiful nature. She puffed smoke in the air and took a sip of the liquor beside her, as she glared at the bleeding rose with sad and anguish filled eyes, it told a lot about her and her agony. She was as beautiful as the rose in front of her.

Ruby was now sure of it. Ruby turned around and ran back to the elevator. "Ruby! Ruby! Let me explain!" she heard Adam calling out her name, but she ignored him. Upon entering the elevator, she quickly took out her cellphone from her pocket and called Sapphire. She took a deep breath and calmed herself. "Hey, girl! What's up?" Sapphire greeted her immediately when she answered her call. "Hey, Sapphire, can we go bar-hopping tonight?" she invited her friend. Sapphire faked a gasp. “Is the world coming to an end? Ruby Rose Castillo inviting me to go barhopping again? What did you eat and what made you think of inviting me again?” Sapphire exclaimed.

But I hesitate when my eyes catch a splotch of color on the ground under my hands that hadn't been there when I sat down. There were flowers, tiny blue ones with white middles, blossoming from where my hands had been. I could see the outline of my fingertips, in fact, but no palm or thumb. I look at my hand, which has loose blades of grass stuck to it. I look at the other side of me, but there are no flowers on that side where my hand had been. The only difference between my hands were I used one to wipe my tears. I leaned down a little and stared at the flowers that continued to slowly creep up from the ground.
