he said quietly. The moons above flickered faintly. For a brief moment, one of them seemed to fade into shadow. Then something impossible happened. Far beyond the familiar moons, a faint new light appeared in the sky. A small, pale moon slowly emerged from the darkness. Lyra stared in disbelief. “That’s not possible,” she whispered. There had always been twenty moons. Always. But now… there were twenty-one. The strange new moon glowed dimly, almost like a ghost hiding behind the others.

Tiny diamonds formed a ring of stars, cradling a silver crescent in the center. My breathing stopped. I had sketched that design when I was fifteen, in the corner of my old sketchbook. The day Ryan confessed to me, he had pointed at that drawing, his voice shaking. “Jane, one day when I have money, I’ll make this for you. “Stars always stay beside the moon. “Just like I’ll never break my promise to you.” Now he had finally made it. He just put it on someone else. On screen, Wendy touched the pendant at her collarbone and smiled shyly.

As if washing away my burning heart. I looked at the full moon in the night sky, beside it were two stars also shining brightly. A starry moon that appears every night and the one that convinces me that I am still living in the world inside a novel. “When I first came to this world, the starry moon looked so attractive. They are beautiful, calming and mysterious. I don't get tired staring at them before I go to sleep. But now, whenever I see them, my heart feels like it's going to fall out. Because I remember that dreadful night along.”

“So that way.” 16B was a much larger section than I expected. Still, it made sense since wolves were always passing down stories to the younger generations, true or not. “Found it,” I said. It took forty-five minutes but I found a book on the Moon Blessed that was not a kid's bedtime story. “When the Goddess becomes a man,” I read out the title. From the cover, I could tell it was still a fiction story for the most part. But it was better than nothing at all.

Or two. And the Lycan King's castle wasn't too bad. They had great food and the softest bed ever. She could only hope Sinclair wasn't planning a rescue mission for her. It would really suck because she was starting to like the view here. Naomi flipped the page of the novel, fascinated by the characters. A story of the Moon Goddess and her mate. Naomi didn't believe in deities, never had, but she couldn't pretend she wasn't curious. Closing the book upon its completion, she stretched lithely before gracefully rolling off the bed. She headed for the door and twisted the doorknob to find it locked.

The only places I go to most of the time is the library, the living room to watch the TV, the garden to enjoy the refreshing breeze blowing there. "Have you done what the moon goddess asked you to do?" Mom asks while in the car returning to our lounge in the Luna Central Pack. Our flight here was very smooth and adventurous in the positive sense, fuelled by the fact that I returned to my pack to witness a variety of conflicts but I conquered all of them. This is what forms part of the adventure. Only a little bit and I would have let love make me fail to achieve what the moon goddess asked me to do.

He sighed. “I just wanted to thank you .. again.. for the book. I can’t … I can’t explain to you how much that means to me.” He told her seriously. Emerson smiled at him so brightly it was like he was staring into the sun. But Em wasn’t the sun. She was his moon. His light in the dark…. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ After a late breakfast they all went and got dressed and ready and made the drive to Portland. His aunt and grandmother were cooking Christmas Day dinner … and they were heading to their air b&b.
