It had always been him. Mike. He even conquered me in my dreams. He never left me alone. Then, suddenly I was lost in darkness. Pitch black darkness everywhere I looked. But suddenly a beautiful woman came near me. She was dressed in white. Her hair was white as well. She hugged me. She comforted me. "Don't be afraid my child. I am the moon goddess. You are never alone. He is your world." she spoke. A knock on the door woke me up. It was my mom who came to wake me up.

SELENE POV It wasn't until the moon had reached its peak in the sky that I slipped from the bed. Fully clothed, I was ready to make my escape from the manor. The front door wasn't an option this time, since I didn't want to chance anyone spotting me leave. I made my way over to the balcony doors and opened them quietly.

Black gems encrusted the moon, making it beautiful in an eerie kind of way. “It’s so pretty,” Aisling murmured; the gems caught the light that crept through the window. As soon as I touched the moon, it was like my hands had a mind of their own. I picked up the moon and pushed it into the indention on the book. A distinct click emanated from the book. I pressed two fingers to the moon and turned it counterclockwise until the latch on the book was removable. “Brigid! Aisling!” I heard Papa calling from downstairs, but I couldn’t stop.
