Forest Training Camp Arc Novels & Stories

They do it almost thrice a day, they even stayed awake at night. Today, the weather was cold and breezy still. The General mentioned that they were going out to have the training; both Blanche and Aerith are in-charge of the said activity. They will conduct a firing session in the forest near the campus location. The said campus was located at the top center of the forest. And the place where they will conduct the said adrenaline and coordination training was located southwest of the establishment.

"Alright, alright, Sander. Halt," I said, sighing exasperatedly when Sander was tugging my hand as we were near the location of the boot camp. The boot camp was set up near the river of Tana Forest to the north. That vast area was enough to have mandatorily gruesome training for the rookies and the pack warriors. Their mentors were the Gammas. Sometimes, Desmond and the two Betas, Oakley and Harvey, participated in teaching the privates.

Whatever it is, the longer it takes, the more I question his intentions. **************** A flight, and a car ride later, we arrive at the camp the warriors set up. We had to remain selective in our choices, needing more warriors to remain home and protect the packs. We only brought a few elites from Silver Run and New Moon. Neat rows of tents, line the surrounding area, autumn leaves are ankle high, covering the forest floor. I wander through the tents, when Fletcher deviates, walking into the forest. Curiosity forces me to follow behind, trying to keep my distance, but it fails.

Next to her, Caroline scrolled through her phone, grinning every now and then at the welcome emails the camp had sent. “You ready for this?” Caroline asked, her voice soft but excited. “We’re here,” the driver announced, slowing to a stop near a wooden archway that read: The Ridge Retreat: A Month of Stillness, Strength, and Self. Carolina’s face lit up. “Oh my God. After three years…”

The man didn’t know when to quit. We were all given coordinates to where Capture the Flag would be played. The trainees who rented cars for the duration of their stay in the Midnight Veil pack drove, while the other’s took charter busses that dropped them off by the dozen. Hakeem and I pulled into the dirt lot, following the sea of heads down a wide path into the forest. The dense tree’s blocked everything from view, including the clearing that appeared out of nowhere. A guard shack came into view, which was really just a doublewide trailer the trainers hauled all the way out here to act as surveillance.

Nathan triggered. “I guess I know why make this decision.” Said Alexa. “I know it wasn’t mistake to choose you.” Said Cornelio. “Well, you are welcome.” Said Alexa. “Alright, it is time for team work training!” said Cornelio. He tells them the next lesson would be. “There is 30 Landcaster inside the forest, and each team must defeat 10 Landcasters to finish the lesson. No time limitation, and no weapon restriction. You are freely to co-op with your team mate to defeat it, but I wouldn’t allow you to leave this chamber before finished.” Said Cornelio.

JOHN The forest was dark as ink as I came through the portal. I'd opened it right on the edge of the camp I'd spent many summers at when I was younger. Camp Meadow Creek was a compound of over one hundred acres in the Cumberland mountains outside of Louisville. In front of me were the main entrance, the Community Hall, and the fifteen smaller cabins the earth witch trainees stayed in when they were here.

His smile changes as he puckers his lips in consideration, “What pack are you from? Not that I’m not excited to have some new blood, we just don’t get a lot of it around here.” My body goes slightly rigid at the question, as I try and think of a pack that close to here. “Oh, I’m from Forest Pines, names Grace.” He smiles and I internally pat myself on the back for thinking on my feet. “Well, I’m glad you could join us, Grace. My names Jordan.” I smile at him and then watch out the window, as we pass an insane number of wide-open fields. Jordan goes on talking about everyone that goes to this camp, but I find myself spacing off as I consider the turn of events my life has gone through i

Despite the lingering fear and uncertainty, a sense of unity and determination permeated the camp. I can wait for him to really feel something. Right now, we have bigger things to worry about. But it's nice to just live in bliss for a moment or two. Just the two of us. Exploring what we have now. It's been a few days since the camp was here. A few stayed back. Shacking up in a make shift dorm on the training area property we have here.
