JESSICA The steady beeping of monitors faded into background noise as I stripped off my surgical gloves, satisfaction warming my chest even as my bones ached from the exhaustion from being up for countless hours. Another successful surgery, another life saved. That's what I lived for now – not the family "business" that seems to have blurred into the background for now. I felt slightly guilty, I'd taken up countless shifts, burying myself deep in work just to prove to myself that I made the right decision by pushing my family away and sticking to this dream of mine. White roses lined the halls, guards pinned silver wolf badges to their jackets, and every window in the main house blazed with light. Serena was back. The battle raged. Smoke obscured the castle as the walls fell from the balls of fire shot through them. It was thick and black and caused all to cough who inhaled it. The fumes noxious and smothering. Sounds of metal clashing as swords clanged against each other and against shields and armor. The sound of men crying out in agony as they were wounded with either metal or fire. Sheiria turned this way and that. Desperately looking for..... There! She could just make out the bulk of his shape. She would know his massive outline anywhere. Just as she reached his side, a sword pierced through her shoulder, almost cleaving her arm from her body.

I whispered, tears welling in my eyes—half of them fake, half of them entirely real because the thought of losing him was a physical knife in my throat. I inserted the needle into the margins of the raw, red wound, injecting the local anesthetic. Malakai’s entire body went completely rigid, the muscles in his abdomen locking up so hard they looked like carved stone. I shook my head with a smile before I sat beside him and took a quick peck on his cheek. "Ah, nothing. I just forgot something in the lobby so I went back there," I lied then shifted my sight to Blake who was sitting across us. "It's a surprise to meet you here Mr. Hernandez, what brought you here?" I inquired. He made a short fake laugh. "If only I didn't know you, I would take that as an insult," he started, causing me to raise a brow. "Oh well, Barack invited me here. We thought you don't mind," he continued.

She may have been a little dribbly but she looked just as beautiful as ever. "Hey lover boy. You know you're not fooling anyone, right?" Kane chuckles, whilst shooting zombies I turn and make my way over to the sofa, grabbing a controller to join the game. "Fooling anyone about what?" I ask slightly confused "and what level are you on?" I ask staring at the screen, I'd never reached this level before but I'd never admit that to Kane. He abruptly pauses the game and turns to me before looking at Rory and back to me.

But right now, my focus was upon my mate… I had been pacing the busy, starch white hallways of the hospital for what felt like an eternity. Radio silence from doctors and nurses. Chapter 15: Forgotten Past Aaron slowly opened his eyes. Everything looks black around him. The longer he looks the more he starts to noticed the glimmer of a light at the end of a very long tunnel. He tries to move but it was quickly clear his body feels too heavy to get up. He slowly moves his head wondering if he was alone. He noticed the bright moon shining through the open curtains. The sounds of the waves slowly sooths the tension in his body. “Doctor, he is awake.”
