The glass behind him shows my reflection, where my eyes glow too bright, my wings too large. Kieran pins my wings against his chest. The feathers shed out as I struggle. “Easy, little wolf,” he breathes in my ear. “I've got you.” Vaughn presses the syringe to my neck. “One. Two. Ready. Go.“ The antidote hits like ice and lightning as pain flares through my spine. I scream without thinking as Gideon presses me down, breathing fast. “That's it. She demanded while Onyx was tired of the same words being repeated since she had her first shift. "Can we not do this right now," Onyx dismissed while her mother suddenly grabbed her wrist, and their eyes locked. "You are in preheat," The woman exclaimed, letting go of Onyx's hand. "I should have known, leaving you with your father would bring more harm than good, look at what he has turned you into,"

Following that, I got on top of him and started punching him repeatedly. “You thinnkkk you can touch me again?” I shouted, not stopping at the finishing siren, “I am notttt that hopeless girl anymore,” I was panting and punching him until a sturdy pair of arms were wrapped around my waist to pull me away from Tanner. “Phoenix Hart, from the Dark Autumn Pack, is our new best warrior! All hail before her,” the leader announced my victory, and the crowd was forced to get up and give me a round of applause. But unfortunately, my vision was still blurred. I wasn’t able to focus on anything at the moment, not even on Tanner on the ground.
