The clang of steel against steel rang out as the battle began. Zoe lunged forward, her wolf surging to the surface as she shifted mid-stride. Nila’s white fur gleamed in the ethereal light as she leapt at one of the fae warriors who had descended to the floor. Her claws tore through the warrior’s shimmering armor, the sound of ripping fabric and flesh sending a grim satisfaction through her.
