The Prince and His Princess
Unlike the three-panel format I’d seen before, this one told a sweeping story maybe ten, twelve scenes etched into one continuous timber.
I stepped closer, and Ron appeared beside me once again.
“Ah, the missing princess,” he said with a nod. “Most folks miss that one. This beam tells the tale of The Order’s only failure.”
I blinked, intrigued. “The Order failed?”
He smiled, eyes gleaming. “Oh yes. It begins with Duke Lockwood the ruler of this land long ago. He had a daughter, Lilliana. Said to be the most beautiful woman in all the provinces. But her father was… protective, some say obsessive. He kept her hidden away in a tower, allowing visits only from her tutor and himself.”
