Emily's heart quickened as she realized she was in the presence of a revered elder, a keeper of ancient knowledge. The elder's voice was a melodic whisper that seemed to echo through the depths of Emily's soul. I look at my clock and see I have 10 minutes left so I put on my shoes and texted Derric that I will be waiting for them in the lobby. We have arrived at the royal castle 10 minutes early. After they announced us we walked into the hall. We start mingling with the other werewolves that are present. Mostly all the unmated supernatural are present except for the Alpha, Beta, and third in command couples. We have to be here no exception. I look around hoping to find someone that looks interesting to talk to. I see a young fairy walking towards me. "Hi, my name is Celia. I'm the sister of the fairy queen."

Most werewolves found their mates at 18 years but they were also late bloomers who get to meet their mates much later! The worst was for those who crossed 25 years and had no mates, most times they just ended up mating with a partner whose own true mates died or were also mateless!! For Hola it was so much more, she could finally get to see Archer again!! It was such a beautiful morning and I wanted it to remain so, that nothing or anyone can ruin today for me!! I was rather proud of myself for waking up early, too early probably because it was just 6:00 am and I had about 2 hours to prepare to join the girls...

I’ve always found it weird, but it all makes sense now.” “What is?!” I scowl at him. “We are werewolf hunters, but as a child, we are told of a story about how werewolves are infertile and the protection given to the Owusu clan members against a curse. It is a star-crossed lovers type of romance, and the two main characters needed to find each other. By the way, these two characters are a werewolf and a hunter.”

Chapter 5: The Shadow Within With each passing day, Emilia's bond with Ryder deepened, their love blossoming amidst the shadows of Ravenwood. Werewolves could still communicate even in their wolf form, not words though but they could understand eachother perfectly. "You're Breathtaking...your wolf is very beautiful" I tell her managing to not roll my tongue all over her wolf. Could this night get any more better! Everything was so perfect already, we raced eachother howling as we ran through the leaves only stopping when we were both completely exhausted. I could feel the happiness seeping off her. We're both breathing loudly and laughing from the run.

Including me. Werewolves began finding their mates at eighteen. At exactly that age I'd looked into Gerad Justin's eyes and was crushed to realize he wasn't my mate. He'd probably looked into mine and thought, 'f*ck. Another one of those weirdos', not aware of the emotional turmoil going on inside me.
