Midnight Smiles

Midnight Smiles

She has read that book too? Midnight was a character from one of his first books. The book was about a young man, who because of being possessed by demons, would go on a killing spree every midnight, the sight and scent of the blood being the only salvation from the mental and physical pain these demons brought him. That fucker was a total psycho. Jake felt wronged. Why should she call him that? Does Ryder think of him as a psycho? Yet, upon noticing Ryder beaming proudly like a little child, he didn't have the heart to refuse. "Why not."

Runaway Bride to his Billionaire Rival

Runaway Bride to his Billionaire Rival

“Because that’s never how you win.” Kris snorted softly, sliding her notes together. “You’re terrifying when you don’t even try.” Freeda turned her gaze toward the window, the city lights beginning to glitter across the glass, shadows falling like careful sentries. She felt the rhythm of control returning to her chest, steady, unyielding. Randy’s lies, Scott’s quiet watch, the whispers in the hall—they all belonged to someone else now. She closed her laptop. The day was hers. Not because it was safe, not because the world had changed, but because she had chosen, line by line, to take it back. She had spoken truth where others had tried to drown it. And for once, that was enough.

BEAUTY IN IMMORTALITY

BEAUTY IN IMMORTALITY

Freeda was a bit surprised. "And am I part of the story of this book?" Freeda asked as she looked at each page. "Yes, because you'll be the one to finish the book," Klyde replied. Freeda stopped to notice that the last page of the book was missing. “You’re the one who can change everything, you’re the key for them to get justice,” Klyde said. Freeda sighed. "I don't understand what you're talking about, what can I do to help them? I can't change everything. I'm just a former undercover," Freeda said and closed the book. She should have returned it to Klyde but she was surprised when he suddenly disappeared from her side. "Where is he?" she was startled and looked for him inside but she could

I'm Stuck in Another World with an Idiot

I'm Stuck in Another World with an Idiot

Racism, police brutality, corporate slaves, extreme poverty, and an ever so visible class struggle between the pitiful and the blessed, hidden from the sight of the masses by a grandiose illusion conceived by the nature of man; these are the true colors of Midway. Ria and I need to flee from here the moment we find the missing pages in the book. And fulfilled our side of the deal. Trying to "fix" the errors of this dumpster is like trying to be Jesus, but for now, I'll make it a better place for when she wakes up. "Here, take mine. That's a new model." "T-Thank you?" "I'll be off now." I'm grateful for your offering, but may you please refrain from reminding me of the considerable distance b

Marked by Midnight

Marked by Midnight

He stripped me of that freedom two days ago. "Well, more reason you should come along with me. I'll show you around. Rest up. A maid will come up and help you run a bath." he closes the door behind him, sealing what he had said. No choice for me. The maid comes up a few minutes after. I sit in the bathtub, washing my hair, lost in my thoughts. I imagine the contrast between the life I'm currently living, and the one I had lived as a human. No, I wasn't fortunate enough to have the wealth that this place is gilded with, but I had my freedom. Currently, I have no sense of self. I'm mostly a distorted adult, living like an infant who's just discovering themselves.

The Billionaire’s Bride

The Billionaire’s Bride

Then, a rasping voice, laced with a hint of madness, emerged from the darkness beneath the hood. "I… I was a scholar," it croaked, "driven by a thirst for knowledge forbidden. Now, I am… trapped, consumed by the whispers." A wave of empathy washed over Maya, the tracker known for her keen senses and compassionate nature. "We can help you," she offered cautiously, "but you have to let go of the book." The figure clutched the book tighter, its knuckles turning white. "The power… it promises freedom," it rasped, the whispers intertwining with its words. "Freedom from pain, from fear… from everything."

The Woman Who Stayed

The Woman Who Stayed

Read enough to understand the quality of what was happening. The first message she read that stopped her was from a woman she did not know, in a city she had never visited, who had apparently read the entire book between midnight and four in the morning and had written to say: I did not sleep. I could not sleep. Every time I thought I could put it down I found I could not put it down because it felt like putting down the only honest thing I had encountered in years. I have been in that kitchen. I have stood at that counter. I did not know anyone else had been there until this morning.

The book is well written and very interesting! However, keep in mind there is no happy ending for now. According to the author, there will be a sequel with a happy end, but it is still not in the app, hopefully soon. Personally, I can't wait about it.
