I was an asshole sometimes, not an idiot.
“Yeah, let’s go out,” I flicked my eyes to Marissa. “How does that sound to you?”
“Please say yes, Mommy,” Annie begged, pressing her hands together in front of her. “Please. Please.”
Marissa smiled, nodding. “Sure. What do you guys want to do?”
My mind raced with ideas, but I decided to go with an old classic. “I know of a great spot where we can go to catch our own dinner?”
