Something moved across his face. Relief, maybe. “No feelings. No jealousy. Friendship is the priority, always. If either of us gets uncomfortable, it stops, no questions, no hard feelings. And we don’t talk about it like it’s something it isn’t.”
“Which is what, exactly?”
“Two people who trust each other. Helping each other out.”
I looked at him for a moment. Then at the pizza boxes on the table. Then back at him. “Okay.”
