Bullying was an everyday occurance, and I did my best to ignore the bullies, even if they insulted me, even if they hit me.
“Stop that at once,” he had growled one day, coming to my defense when nobody even batted an eye at everything. “She’s a pack member, just like you and me, and she doesn’t deserve any of this.”
The bullies, seeing their future Alpha, speak out for me, made haste to step away.
