he said, showing me a basket which was in his hand. "I have washed them all you can have," he said while handing me a basket full of fresh-picked fruit. "Aww, you didn't have to do that. Thank you" I said while taking the basket from his hand. "Come here," I said, opening my one arm to hug him. He bent down and hugged me. "It's so sweet of you," I said with a big overwhelmed smile on my face and I kissed him on his cheeks. He is so sweet. He smiled shyly at me.

I raise my eyebrow. “What happened to being clear-headed when you’re with me, hmm?” I ask, but he only chuckles. “Just one glass won’t make us shitfaced. I can tell you’re nervous about being alone with me, so maybe this will relax you a little bit.” He says, pouring himself a glass, then pours me one. I look over into the picnic basket and notice other snacks in there; some were even my favourite. “You got Jujy Fruits?!” I ask, grabbing the packet from the basket and smiling excitedly. Jason chuckles and nods.

It felt warm on her hands. The park was airy, with the sound of chirping and twittering birds, trees scattered in several sections. They laid a white blanket, which had designs of a mouse, on the slightly muddy ground, overlooking the nearby river, where above them a giant oak tree spread its shade. The basket held fruits—bananas, apples, honey, chocolate, bucket chicken, and sandwiches. And, lastly, candies, sweets, and cookies arranged in the center. Zara arranged it carefully. Nat took pictures of the view of the river, making a reel of the surrounding vista.

Every animal found it unbelievable. Pedro the Parrot had fresh news. [I just saw the zoo director with his aide. Olive Green suggested treating us well because Christmas is coming, and animals should have a good holiday too. Oh, right, Olive is Miss Fruit.] [Wow, Miss Fruit is at it again!] The animals were moved to tears. I snorted a little, but inside I still felt uneasy. They may be eating well for now, but what about after the holidays? Once the visitors were gone, the enclosures would likely slip back to the old state, and the animals would go hungry again.

He extended the bouquet and the basket toward me like they were peace offerings, his tired eyes hopeful and sincere. I stared at him, then at the ridiculous gifts in his hands. Flowers that might’ve once been beautiful but now looked like an insult, a mockery. The basket was stuffed with expensive treats—chocolates, wine, maybe even something more indulgent—and the entire display made my stomach churn. What was this? An apology? A bribe? A sick joke?

" May is giving him an attitude. I went to watch them and greet Hendrick. "Hello Hendrick, how are you?" He bowed at me and gave me a basket of fruits. "I just bought this from someone because they said that they needed money." I held the basket. "But why are you giving this to me?" He looked in the other direction. "Is there something wrong?" Nature is the best gift the world could give. There are a lot of bamboo shoots and chestnuts that are fragrant and sweet. The pomelos here are good for the body too. Last time, Jasper even brought back a tiny fruit that was red in color. It was sour yet sweet. He said that it was some kind of nutritious berry."

Justin slowly reached his hand forward again and Grabbed the basket. He looked at the basket and examined it. It was a chocolate brown with a cream liner on the inside. He set it down then lifted the lid and looked inside. The nervous and curious side of him was quickly replaced, with a happy and curious side, as a smile quickly spreads across his face when he looked inside the basket. He leaned his face closer to the basket and took a deep breath in through his nose. It was as if he had disappeared into his own little world and he quickly sprung into action.

"Whatever you have, Emily," The little girl pulled out from underneath the stall a basket of fruits of all shapes and colors.
