Getting off the bus, I hear the rumble of what sounds like thunder and I look up at the sky, wondering if this will be another wet Christmas. As expected for Christmas Eve, the express store, which is smaller than the standard ones in the chain, is packed. I grab a basket and head towards the fresh produce aisle, to see if I can find fruits for the trifles Muna likes, the only dessert I know how to make. But if I’m to be honest, it isn’t Muna I’m looking forward to impressing this time.

I said through gritted teeth. “How about I give you the surprise that I’ve been saving for last?” Lucas asked. My eyes lit up at his words, forgetting the angry feeling I felt just a few seconds ago. “A surprise? What is it? Give it to me now!” My heart raced excitedly like a child who had been promised a trip to the theme park. Lucas smirked before getting to his feet and walking towards the fridge. He took out a small basket of purple fruits. “Surprise!” Lucas said, walking towards the counter with the basket of fruits. “I got you the fruits you wanted.”

He returns a minute later with a huge basket in his hand . " You haven't ate properly since yesterday .. " He says , a hand at his nape , scratching on it through his uncomfortableness . He sets it down in front of me and hands me the TV remote . I look at the basket . There really were alot of things in here . What stood out most to me was the huge packs of different kinds of chocolate . There were also fruits , cake and alot of chips . I smile lightly and grab the chocolate pack . Opening a nutty chocolate , I start munching on it and groan .

But the guidance was always limited to Nate’s review times and didn’t include exam days. They have their homeroom Christmas Party on December 20. Nate’s Secret Santa turns out to be Babylee. They gift him a pair of brand-new Nike Air Force 1! When Nate protests about the price, Babylee reassures him that they’re only replica and not original, but they look so legit that nobody can tell otherwise. Lexy said you’d crave for sour foods.” “Thank you, Car!” she said, hugging him. Can I add pickles to brownies? “Sometimes I think you got these two pregnant, bro,” said Lexy as Anna hugged her next. “You’re all here,” said a new guest. Why are they all here? Rigel, like the rest of them, invited himself in and gave Anna a quick hug. He handed her a fruit basket. A fucking fruit basket! Can’t they all wait until tomorrow? And all it had were mangoes.

“It is Christmas.” I stared at her in horror. “I have been smiling. Internally.” “No, you have been glaring at everything with open hostility.” “That is how I smile.” Her sigh sounded like the end of hope itself. “Just hang these.” I took the basket, grudgingly, and stalked toward the main hallway. Wolves hustled past carrying giant wreaths that could double as shields. Someone shouted for more ribbon. Someone else shouted for less ribbon. A pup ran by dragging a tangle of lights that looked like it had eaten three smaller strings and gained sentience.

He brought the basket he’d been holding onto and set it down on the table for the Goddess Queen to see. The basket made with wooden weaves was filled with multiple green-colored fruits. The fruit was called Nori. It was a seasonal fruit and it would only grow around this time of the year in Ehrlich’s soil. Even then, the fruit only grew in the warmest areas down south. Its yield was drastically low, so it was quite difficult to find them in numbers. “It’s been a long time since I saw this!” Alicia looked at the basket with genuine excitement. She looked around, her gaze searching for whoever might have dropped it, but she saw no one. Was someone playing a prank on her? Or had Zayne or Alaric dropped it? She walked into the cabin and carefully locked the door with the half-broken bolt. She sat on her bed and pulled the cloth from the basket. A small gasp escaped her lips, and she stared wide-eyed at the content. Fruits. It was full of fruits. Bananas, apples, oranges, and grapes filled the basket to the brim. A small, folded note sat at the top, and she pulled it.

She added he last part as if it was an afterthought. I didn’t want to answer that question, our ideas of fun differed greatly. “Spoilsport. Anyways, look what we brought you.” She said shoving the basket in my face, “A basket of fruit.” The basket made me gag, its content rotten and the stink filled my nose. I tried pushing it away but she held it firm. “Now, don’t you know it’s rude to refuse a gift?” Casey said, “We went through so much to get that for you.”

“So cool.” “You find it cool?” He knelt on the ground. Checking the content of the basket. The first one was filled with different sizes of containers and napkins. While the others are full of fruits like mangoes, apples, oranges and some grapes. It was more than enough for the two of them. “Yeah.” His arms were clutching at the rock. Peaking at Henrick’s action. “I mean, even if I became as rich and powerful as you, I don’t think I would be able to make my people feel scared in my presence.”
