I closed my eyes concentrating on the sound. “ ‘Larie?” Ash questioned but I shushed him. “Hush little baby, Cuca is coming, Papa went to the fields, Mama went to work.” I completed the humming sound, recognizing the tune. “What in the damn world is that?” I whipped around on Ash’s voice, and the sight left me in a shock. “The ninth wonder of the world” I spoke in shock.

"Goodnight, little one. It’s time to close your eyes, The things you keep asking just let it all fly away Like birds in the sky, they’ll soon find the way But honey, just remember the promise I made That wherever you go, even the darkest days I will always be here with you. We will never be far away. I will never leave you..." The lullaby was playing in my head once again, and I sank to the floor when I put both of my hands in my ears to stop it from playing anymore. Od zlata jabuku. Pati majka, pati majka. Udova ostala. Pati majka, pati majka. Udova ostala." Her voice and this lullaby were the last thing I needed to recollect myself.

Reasonable. Completely imperfect. God. Completely beautiful. Fair. The nursery became quiet except for her voice. Reasonable. Soft. Gentle. God. And somehow... the baby stopped crying. Fair. Not immediately. Reasonable. Slowly. God. The cries grew softer.
