A window into how drunk and stupid people can be,? The truth is, yes you get spilled on, yes you rise and fall at unhuman hours in the day and yes its minimum wage. But you know what? It’s fun. I’m by far one of the happiest people in my entire course these days because, despite dragging myself around on the floor of our lectures in the early mornings, I always have a hilarious story to tell about what happened at work last night, besides, I don’t get bullied by anyone, I’ve left that horrible life behind me, and now I’m surrounded by a few friends who treat .e like family.

And neither of us says anything about it. Fred is in the middle of telling a ridiculous story about something that happened at work, and Stephanie is laughing so hard she nearly spills her drink. “Wait…wait…..so you’re telling me you actually told your boss that?” she gasps. “I had to!” Fred defends, pointing dramatically. “He deserved it!” “And you didn’t get fired?” Jason cuts in, clearly amused. “God loves me,” Fred says proudly. We all burst into laughter. Even Lucas. And I swear… I could sit there forever just listening to that sound.

I love when they say that. Everyone is going around the room saying the same boring crap about how much they've enjoyed working in blah blah company working on the same whatever project for x number of years. And their personal comment is usually something like "I enjoy reading technical journals." So when they get to me, I usually do something like this: "My name is Jake. I worked for Vandalay Industries for 5 years as a latex salesman, followed by brief forays into architecture and marine biology before becoming a programmer." About 90% of the time no one is paying attention as I am saying this stuff, but that 10% of the time, it's just magic and someone will just laugh out loud.

He was telling me some funny story about one of his co workers that I wasn’t really listening to. I was still caught up with the meeting with the big boss this afternoon that Leo had described as ‘hot’ and ‘steamy’. I rolled my eyes at that telling him that it was more like ‘embarrassing’ and ‘problematic’. I knew the nature of the business world, those who worship the rich and famous... those who are the rich and famous.

He asked, signaling the bartender. We found a small table near the bar, and soon enough, we were deep in conversation, the minutes flying by effortlessly. Liam had this way of making me feel at ease, like I could let my guard down without worrying about judgment. He told me funny stories about his early days at the company, including an embarrassing incident with a photocopier that left me clutching my stomach with laughter. “You’re kidding,” I said between laughs, wiping a tear from the corner of my eye. “I wish I were,” he said, grinning. “But no, I really did trip over the cord and send about a hundred copies of my butt flying through the office. Needless to say, I double-check all cords

"We won't have you around much longer before you head back to school. Why don't you tell us some stories about your summer classes?" That went better than I expected. You see, my dad is a great storyteller. I'm sure when he retold some of my little anecdotes from college to his co-workers, they came out much better than when I told the same stories. Still, I was able to be entertaining and informative. It made me smile when I could coax a laugh out of them.

Emily could only stifle her laugh as some people shared hilarious stories of how they got into the company. “I got mine at the grocery store.” someone announced. ‘What!!” another exclaimed. “Yeah, I was in line waiting to pay this obnoxious cashier. I got the email, dumped my groceries and ran out. I'm pretty sure I looked a hell lot of crazy.” The table erupted in cackles at his dramatic gestures. “What about you, Emily ? What were you doing when you got in?” Emily froze as all attention turned to her. “Ummh, I was….I was home.” the words stumbled out of her mouth.

A pretty good one as a Brand Marketing Assistant at Addams Assurance, making Rex Addams quite thrilled. I liked working there. Everyone was pretty nice and I was pretty sure I was getting paid more than the other entry levels. It was a lot of work, but it kept my mind off of the boys. The best part of my job was that it was in close proximity to my friend’s jobs and we got to have lunch every day together.
