It’s now Friday and I’ve gotten the first week officially over with. I’m completely defeated by the bullshit every day has brought on. Today is the day I meet up with Chase. It’ll be nice to see a familiar face and to leave this god-forsaken place for a few hours.

My teeth bit down hard on my lower lip, until the metallic taste of blood filled my mouth. The craziest revenge I could carry out... was to leave alone, dragging this broken body with me. "Am I pathetic?" Rio didn’t answer right away. After a long silence, a deep sigh came through the receiver. "Hold on for two more days. I’ll arrange everything for your departure." After hanging up, I slumped to the ground and sat there for a long time. I couldn’t see the light outside fade from day to night. At dinner time, Anthony came upstairs and walked into my room on his own.

“Only two more blocks.” “I know where Burger Queen is you goof.” Emma chuckled. They turned a corner and were in the Burger Queen parking lot. The parking spots nearest the dumpster housed two vehicles. The vehicle closest to the dumpster was a brand new, pearly white, full electric, full a.i. 2067 Mercedes G Wagon. Directly next to the G Wagon was a rusty red, dilapidated, slammed, 2022 Honda Civic.

I look up and Colt sheepishly grins knowing he almost caught me in the shower. My cheeks blush and my heartbeat picks up a bit as I look away to try to get myself under control before I look up at him, “Hey, everything okay?” He licks his lips like he’s about to devour a meal, or just me, and says, “Everything’s fine, just wanted to run something by you really quick. We have a launch party scheduled for Friday night, and you leave on Wednesday. I was wondering if I could convince you to stay an extra few days so you could come with me? It only gives you 3 or 4 days of downtime though, so I understand if you don’t want to.”

They must be waiting for me somewhere. As the train jerks, slowly crawling out of the station, I settle into my seat. I’ve theorised that it must take a few days for the train to make the full trip. Maybe a week even. Just as those thoughts consumed my mind, a small screen planted into the back of the seat in front of me flashes. First Destination : Territory Of Fate Time of Travel : 26 hours. Sighing deeply, I settle into my seat. With no belongings aside from the clothes on my back, I peel off my jacket and use it as a pillow. A few seats in front of me, I hear someone’s muffled cries.

May 9 of 2030 came in and Andrew, as he had always been for the last five years, woke up with a hangover. But that day, he woke up with the ID card in his hands kept safe in his chest. That was the only remnant that was left with him after the accident.
