Today Novels & Stories

I’m starting to realise I am going to seriously need to readjust my thinking now. As I am lying in Leos arms later, drifting into a delightful sleep, despite knowing the elders are coming tomorrow ,I decide not to be afraid of tomorrow but to embrace it. I think about how I don’t know what’s coming and worrying about it wont change it, it will just make sure I enjoy everything else less and I want to fully enjoy this moment. Feeling more positive I fall asleep with a ghost of a smile on my face.

M. Today.

Stacie didn't sound as thought she believed it. "Thanks a lot, Stacie!" Mia groaned. "No problem!" Stacie's cheek earned her the well aimed cushion Mia threw in her direction. ----- "What's up, doc?" Mia turned to face a smiling Oliver. "Nothing. What's up?" Mia asked in return, as she hung up her lab coat. She wouldn't need it today since she had no appointments scheduled in. He was dressed plainly. Jeans and a collard shirt. Mia looked over at the bulletin board on the wall, where a sheet of paper had been stuck with a tack. There was no training today, so what was he doing here?

I stood in the kitchen, dicing some vegetables for the food I was cooking for dinner. I had gotten my first pay just yesterday, and used a small amount for the groceries we needed at home. Everything has just been so strange these past few days. It was nearly as if a magical wand had touched my step father. Suddenly, he was in such a good mood, that he was almost never at home, and when he was, he sat down in the garage welding for people, while humming some Korean old songs.

"God, you two look like you’ve been through a shipwreck. Again." ​"How are you standing?" I asked, grabbing a coffee like it was a holy relic. ​"Practice," Mateo said, sliding his glasses down his nose. "And a very expensive IV drip at 6:00 AM. But we have a problem, Hannah." ​He set the breakfast on the table and pulled out his own phone.
