Keith caught more than a thief in that alley. He caught a future. Our future. And I can't wait to see where it takes us.

I could see worry eat at him. “But I also know we will marry. And have children. Children that will grow tall and strong.” He blinked, halted in his brooding by the sudden knowledge. I rubbed my thumb on his cheek and along his jawline. He leaned into my touch. “Does it mean that it happens later in years, or that you won’t die?” he asked “Or those are two opposing future and something could still sway things one way or the other,” I said. “Children?” I nodded. “There are times when it is difficult for me to separate the future from the present. There had been morning when I expected a toddler to jump into bed with us.”

The future was something to be excited, about something to look forward to. The End.

To unravel time's mysteries, you must understand its threads. I shall grant you a glimpse into the past, the present, and the myriad possibilities of the future."

he said, turning to go to the kitchen. "What do you mean?" I asked back. "That we don’t have this problem for the moment," he said. "And in the future?" I asked. "We’ll think about it." "We’ll think about what?" I asked. "What to do," Axel replied, looking over my shoulder. "Axel, you want kids, don’t you?" I asked. "Of course, not now. In the future... far away," he said. "How far?" I asked, frowning. "Far away"

We are out on a team-building trip today. "Team-building?" "Basically, we came out to have some fun." Future Veronica did not reply right away. After a moment, she asked, "Is it March 20, 2025, on your side right now?" When I saw her message, I immediately switched screens and checked the date on my phone. It was indeed March 20, 2025. "Yes, that is the date," I replied. Right after I sent that, future Veronica continued, "Is the weather good today?"

The technology in this time is so advanced that you will not be able to imagine it even in your wildest dreams. The airports do not exist anymore. Instead there are spaceports. People travel from one planet to another planet, one galaxy to another galaxy for vacation, marriage ceremonies, birthdays etc. Each spaceport has upto 300 rockets and space shuttles. All the cars are now aircars. People do not need aeroplanes and trains anymore. They are just kept as models in the museum to help the upcoming generations to see these 'vintage' machines.

Her eyes are watery like she was crying and she has a little bit of icing on the tip of her nose. “Baby, you and I have no idea how much time we actually have left in this life,” I step forward and take her by the shoulders, “Just like everyone else, we don’t know what is going to happen. The future isn’t set in stone. Everything is going to be fine. Just please, stop freezing people in time because that isn’t going to solve anything, okay?”

Andrea stated “Let’s just see if it’s the same as what they saw. I know it sounds like subconscious creation but I read about people who can see the future through dreams, so I don’t know. Let’s wait and see then.” Their other sibling didn’t join their chit-chat, he was listening to their conversation only. Without any reaction or comment, he’s looking at Andrea like he’s examining her. “Why are you looking at me like that?”, Andrea asked. “You’re gifted”, he said plainly. He got up from sitting and went inside the room of their parents. Andrea and her sister followed him inside.

“Now it feels safe because it’s not abstract anymore.” “It’s not ahead of us,” I replied. “It’s around us.” We talked until it felt complete, then ended the call without dragging it out. I sat in the quiet afterward, noticing how little resistance there was in me, no urge to reach, no fear of letting the moment end. Trust filled the space where urgency used to live. That night, lying in bed, I thought about how often people talk about the future like it’s a destination. A place you arrive after enough effort, enough sacrifice, enough correct decisions in a row.
