Lena lay between them, her body still humming from their earlier intimacy, her heart full to bursting. "That was..." She trailed off, searching for words. "Perfect." Kael's voice was drowsy, content. "That was perfect." Caspian's hand traced lazy patterns on her stomach. "Agreed." They lay in comfortable silence for a while. Then Lena spoke again. "Do you ever think about the future? Like, really think about it?" Kael propped himself on one elbow. "What kind of future?" "I don't know. In a year. In ten years. In a hundred years." She looked at them. "What does forever look like to you?"

The past was behind us. The present was ours to live. And the future is bright, uncertain, and full of possibility awaited with a patience that no longer frightened me.

Is it passed and has happened already? Or is it future and is still going to happen? It kinda feels like both at the moment. There has to be a way to bring more sense into it.
