His gaze flicked to Milo, the center of attention, and his brows knitted tighter.
“You—” he started.
Gianna, unsure how to handle the awkwardness, extended her hand. “Hi, I’m Gianna.”
“Of course you are,” Joey breathed, his eyes lighting up as he shook her hand. Then he walked off without even glancing at me, as if he hadn’t just gawked at a supposed stranger for nearly a minute.
“Sorry about Joey,” I said, massaging my temple. “No normal humans in La Belle.”
Amara huffed. “That’s a normal Tuesday for Gianna. Heads just turn.”
