The Rogue’s Savage Claim on Me
For a moment they froze, Fao holding the advantage, Garrett testing his grip.
Then Garrett shifted to human form, laughing.
"Good!" The old man clapped Fao on the shoulder. "Your father used that same move. Drove me crazy trying to counter it."
Something flickered across Fao's face, that grief-wonder-longing I'd seen when he looked at his parents' portrait. But he just nodded, accepting the praise.
"Again?" he asked.
"Rest first. Hydrate." Garrett jerked his chin toward the water station. "Then we work on your wolf form. You're fast, but your technique is sloppy. Rogue fighting, all instinct, no discipline."
