She’s always been like that for as long as I can remember, ever since we were kids. She particularly seems fond of making my life hell, she just enjoys it to no end. But, I never thought she’d grow up on that very habit, and I never thought she’d take it as far as sleeping with my mate. I’ve known Garret since we were kids, we practically grew up together. His father was my father’s Beta, before he came of age and took over following his father’s sudden demise.

Xander was planning on going to the battlegrounds and partaking in a sparring match but spending time with his mate sounded like a much better time. Xander, being the head gamma for the Ero’s pack, trained the men warriors while his mate, Camilla, trained the women. She was his second in command when it came to the warriors. They were an excellent team, even before they mated. “I need to take a shower first,” Xander told her as they left the gym. “I will join you,” she purred, winking. He placed her on the ground, and she took his hand, walking in front of him. She swayed her hips as she walked, teasing him. She knew exactly what she was doing, and his growing erection knew it too.

This is Garrick, Voron’s fiercely loyal Beta and the chief traditionalist of the northern houses. ​"Step back, Garrick," Alpha Voron warns, his voice low and strained, his hand twitching toward his Beta's arm. ​Garrick ignores his Alpha. His cold, amber eyes fix directly on my face, completely unbothered by the brilliant, radioactive lavender light pulsing from the mark on my neck. He lowers his center of gravity, his large hands resting on the iron hilt of the broadsword strapped to his hip.

“Hello Mister Marshall, my name is Ayrelles, but you can call me Les.” The lead female guard shakes my hand with a firm grip. I think her accent is Italian, but I can’t be certain. She has pulled her black hair into a tight braid and her green eyes, set on olive skin, somehow look familiar. She seems to have a stern look etched on her face. I notice her ears twitch as she uses her wolf hearing to search out miniscule sounds. “We will stand guard round the clock. We will respond to any obvious threats. If there is anything you need, please let any of us know.”

She exclaimed, smiling at him. "Yes Ma'am. I arrived few minutes ago." He replied and mum clapped her hands in excitement. Her expression and actions mirrored that of an excited teenage girl whom her crush just complimented. "I'll leave you two alone now. See you later, Garrett." She walked off with Doctor Archer who hadn't uttered a word since they reached, he only had a gentle smile on his face. "How did she know I'm the Beta who was meant to come?" Garrett asked. "She's Luna. She must have discussed it with the Alpha." I answered.

The man in question was on his knees, bowed low as he trembled and stammered his pleas for forgiveness. The door opened at that moment, all attention turning to it. Garrick stepped into the room, seemingly unperturbed by whatever tension was in the air or even the sight of the man kneeling on the floor. His amber eyes flicked to me and I cringed. For some reason, I especially hated him seeing me like this. “What?” Xaden practically growled, furious at the interruption. Garrick’s expression never flickered. He bowed. “You asked me to inform you when the Gamma one squad arrived. They’ve brought Landon Pierce.”

By the way that Garret was now staring at her, I think I just witnessed him fall in love. “Garret, this explains so much!” I couldn’t help the excitement in my voice. He was part of my pack, too. He was a part of both packs, but he was the son of my Gamma, and, as such, he was my Gamma. So if he’s my Gamma, and he’s bonded to Raya, then she must truly be my mate, right? “What are you talking about? How did you find him?” Garret stared at me as if I had somehow betrayed him. The look hurt more than I thought it would.

she panted, grinning, “I think you’re supposed to be keeping up with me, not the entire goddamn guardian team!” Gunner laughed, parrying another strike with her help. “Oh, I am keeping up. Just making sure you don’t get bored.” The subtle humor made the tension crackle differently—it was serious, yes, but there was undeniable joy in the chaos. This was not just sparring. Gérard spotted me first, his sharp eyes narrowing as he straightened. “Ah, Agent Grey,” he drawled, his tone as icy as ever. “You’re persistent, I’ll give you that.” “Give up, Gérard,” I said, my voice steady. “You’re not getting away this time.” He chuckled darkly, shaking his head. “Oh, my dear, you still think you’re the hunter in this game.” At his signal, the remaining guards raised their weapons, and the air exploded with gunfire once more. I dove behind a stack of crates, returning fire with quick, precise shots. Spider appeared from the left, his movements swift as he took down two guards with a combination of knives and bullets.
