THE LIE
“Alright, princess, your wish is my command.”
He paused, his gaze becoming distant as he looked back into his memories. “I used to be mād, really mād. A notorious mādman. I’d spend my nights in a dump site, lying between piles of trash. I ate food scraps from the garbage, picked through discarded things. Children and adults would throw things at me, taunt me. Sometimes, I’d dance in the muddy water while they laughed and sang at my expense. That was my life.”
Greater watched him, her expression softening as he spoke.
