Marriage First, Mate Second
Luckily, before I can worry about that further, there is a knock at the door.
“It’s him, thank the Goddess,” I tell my wife, hurriedly kissing her forehead, “I’ll be right back. We’ve got this.”
I run to the door and usher Dr. Stephens in. It’s only been about a minute, but by the time we get back to my wife she is about to deliver.
“They’re coming,” she says, and she’s pale, but surprisingly still doesn’t appear to be in pain, “I can feel them coming. But it doesn’t hurt. What does that mean?”
