"So we're playing twenty questions, eh," He starts... I nod and straighten my back. "Ok, shot!" "What is your favorite color?" "Black," "and yours?" "Mine too," "How many siblings do you have?" "I have one sister. She's my little spitfire, and you?"

The whole scene was happening too fast, and if I didn't pull my shit together he might just have me right here on the floor, with Garfield and Odie watching. "Can I help you?" He answers, returning the quesions. "Mine is purple, but I also like blue." I answer, then I ask "What is your favorite dinner food?" We keep talking as we drive, our questions vary from trivial to personal. Some questions just get a basic answer like what is your favorite time of year? Others get a more detailed answer, like what is your biggest regret?

I sighed. He leaned back in his chair and smiled. “For you, I’m an open book.” he said. “So what do you want to know? This should be interesting.” he asked. “I don’t know how interesting it will be. While I’ve never been on a date before, I’ve seen enough movies and traveled around enough to know basic getting to know a person type questions.” I shrugged. “Yes, but what makes it interesting is that someone’s actually going to ask me questions. Not sure if you picked up on this, but most people think my brothers and I are interchangeable anatomically correct Ken dolls.” he shrugged.

“Uh oh. Let’s hear it.” “I feel like there’s a lot about you I don’t know these days. And I want to fix that. So why don’t we play a game of twenty questions.” He raises an eyebrow and folds his arms. “I get to ask you things too?” “Yeah, of course.” “Okay then. Deal.” I grin, pleased with the success. “Okay, tell me about your travels.” “That’s not a question,” he points out. I stick my tongue out at him. “What’s the most interesting place you’ve ever been to?”

He was trying. “So,” he said with a small smile, clearly trying to lighten the mood. “It feels nice to finally talk to you like this. Want to tell me a few things about yourself? Let’s start with the classic: favorite color and food?” I let out a small chuckle at his choice of words. “Ah, the classic ‘get to know you better’ question. I thought we were past that already?” I replied, trying to keep things light and playful.
