Taking the book off the shelve I may just find what I wanted to know here. I take a glass of bourbon and go sit in front of the fireplace. The small fire tongues lapping at the logs. Opening the book, I started reading about black magic but nothing that I could relate to what was happening to me and Brian. I have been reading now for about two days and was tired, so I closed my eyes and, before long, I drifted off. I saw Hailey standing at the door. “This book was written by someone who was exactly like me centuries ago, so I wanted to know more information on how to survive this. You don't think I'm going to wait here to die, right?” He nodded. “You're right, but what exactly are you looking at, and what did you find out?” I showed him what I saw, and especially the last line that I just read. That line alone sent shivers down my spine. I couldn't think about it. What was that supposed to mean? I couldn't love two people? “You can’t believe everything written by ghosts,” he said, almost teasing. His gold eyes caught the candlelight, and my heart skipped a bit.

No answer. Carefully, she made her way across the uneven dirt floor, trying to shine the light into the shadows. There was no sign of him anywhere. She peered over into the far corner, thinking maybe she saw something there, or perhaps it was her own shadow. An eerie feeling came over her. Suddenly, she felt someone grab her from behind. A hand over her mouth kept her from shrieking, and she nearly dropped the lantern. “Shhh!” a whispery voice said in her ear. “Ghosts don’t eat apple pie, and they don’t drink brandy.”

Chapter 126: Haunting Shadows Hana’s body stirred restlessly beneath the thin sheet, her breaths shallow and rapid as she fell deeper into the abyss of her nightmare. The moonlight that filtered through the window barely reached her, casting faint shadows across the room. But in her mind, the darkness was much more overwhelming—an unrelenting void filled with ghosts of her past.

I scoffed. "Give me an answer," I sneezed and let go of her hair. I moved backward and noticed that her twin was silently reading a book, it was a chant. I took the book from her, and saw it was the 'Engagement of the dead souls'. I looked at her glowing face, she was looking innocent with a deadly poisonous heart.

Brad said. Bias fixed him with an incredulous stare. “Are you serious? This is beyond odd, this is classic haunting phenomena.” Brad chuckled. He felt better now that Bias was here, and somehow the extreme seriousness with which the young man approached all this helped Brad take it less seriously. “Really, ghosts routinely go around rearranging books? Seems a little pointless.” “You’re thinking like a living, breathing human being.” “It’s one of my many faults.”

Without my knowledge, the book slipped out of my hand and I looked down at the book like I'm facing the real ghost and the sentence read, "...eyes, pale skin human." I desperately need to find the missing 30 pages. Damn!! Those 30 pages could have everything about the Heil!!!! *
