Buzz. Ghost by Justin Bieber sounded all over the room as her phone rang out loud! She walked hesitantly to the phone and picked it up without checking the ID. " Hello..." She said weakly " Hello babes! How are you??" A male voice sounded over the phone. It was cheerful and full of life, unlike Bianca who was slowly drowning in a pool of sadness. Bianca's face changed immediately. She heard that voice because she knew that voice well and she could always recognise it, even in her dreams. But it was the last voice she wished to hear!

I threw dirt on the grave. The phone keeps ringing. I flip it open. I press it to my ear. My hand is shaking so bad I almost drop it. I don't speak. I can't. Silence on the other end. Then, a breath. A sharp intake of air. "Thalia?" The voice is raspy. Familiar. The voice of a ghost. "Baby?" he says. "Are you there?" I scream.

"Not anymore, sir. Miss Havens drove him away. He didn't even make it inside the unit. They had a bit of an argument. We were ready to swoop in to assist Miss Havens, but she didn't look like she needed any." Eli closed his eyes as he smiled like a cat that just had a fat mouse for dinner. My little firecracker. The Ghost asked the man shadowing her to keep a lookout for Carrolton and to alert him right away if that prick showed up again, regardless of the time. He hung up the phone as he propped himself down on the couch as he began scrolling through his contacts. He found the number he was looking for and pressed the call button. After two rings, the person on the other line picked up.

I ask when he answers. “Yeah, boss, she’s still in her cab,” he replies. Good. Right where I want her. “You know your assignment,” I say, ending the call. No hesitation. No explanation. He already knows. Ghost is called that for a reason, you can always feel him watching, but you never see him. Same way Black Kings moves. You don’t see us coming, you just feel it when it’s already too late. She told me she doesn’t belong to me and walked away, leaving me standing here.

“‘Target Alpha is still alive.’” Dominic’s jaw tightened. “And?” “There was another order.” “What order?” The voice hesitated. “They’ve activated….Ghost.” Silence. For the first time since Ashley had met Dominic… She saw genuine concern flash across his face. “Understood.” He ended the call. Ashley stepped closer. “What’s Ghost?” Dominic didn’t answer immediately. Instead, he walked to the shattered window overlooking Manhattan. Police sirens echoed in the distance. Blue and red lights reflected against nearby skyscrapers.
