Ghost’s voice, weak but alive: “…Still here…”

It resembled heat haze over a frozen pond. Roric raised his lance, but Kael gestured for him to wait. "Don't waste the charge." Out of the gray mist emerged a wolf. But it wasn't an ordinary wolf; it was a Ghost-Packer. It stood nearly seven feet tall, made of a translucent, oily smoke that shifted and swirled. Instead of eyes, it had two hollow cavities filled with flickering violet static-the remnants of a soul deleted by Liora's "Link," yet refusing to leave the physical plane.

“What is it?” His eyes never left the monitor. “You might want to see this.” “I am seeing it.” “No.” He shook his head with a quiet laugh. “Keep looking.” I narrowed my eyes and scanned the information in front of me. At first… Nothing. Just usernames, encrypted traffic, anonymous forums, and data moving across the screen. Then one name caught my attention. Ghost. Beside the name were two simple words. Recently online. I froze. Ash immediately went silent. The room seemed quieter all at once. Ghost. Everyone in the underground knew that name. Everyone on the dark web respected it. Some feared it. Ghost never failed. Ghost never left evidence behind. Ghost simply got the job done.

“No. I will not yield to your power, I have waited years for this, you have controlled us for too long.” “Well if you won’t go to your brothers, I will just have to bring them to you.” Black glares at Aidan then glances in my direction before taking a step in my direction. Abruptly there is a loud bang and four monsters appear in front of Aidan. They stare at Black with confusion and anger. They all seem to coloured differently, one orange, one yellow, one red and one green. The green one takes a step towards Black and says with a hush voice

The greenish-blue glow was a little off, but nearly every single window was wide open! The frost wraith, Chloe, floated to the front. Her little face was wrinkled with worry. The Hungry Dead clutched his precious empty bowl. His drool threatened to spill from the corners of his mouth, but his eyes were full of concern. The banshee had stopped crying, sniffing and staring upward. The Poltergeist was holding some random rusty pipe, looking ready to charge up and tear the building apart… There were also the Hanged Ghost, Shadow Sneak, Pipe Phantom…

As I drift into unconsciousness I start a chant of protection against demons *Whether thou art a ghost that hath come from the earth, or a phantom of night that hath no couch… or one that lieth dead in the desert… or a ghost unburied… or a hag-demon, or a ghoul, or a robber-sprite, or a weeping woman that hath died with a babe at the breast… Whatever thou be until thou art removed, until thou departest from the body of the man, thou shalt have no water to drink. Thou shalt not stretch forth thy hand… Into the house enter thou not. Through the fence break thou not...*

But your mother's about to die—I know you'll show up. Her words jolted me back to reality. I pressed a hand to my chest, where my heart ached with a dull, numbing pain. How I wished I could tell her myself. That I've been here all along. It's just that... I've been dead for four years.

“The question is if it really matters.” I joined Brett’s surprise at her words. She smiled. “There’s a lot of debate around what ghosts actually are. Are they what’s left of a person’s energy or are they actual souls? If they’re souls, it makes sense to hurry to help them move on. But I’m inclined to agree with my mentor’s theory, that they’re the remaining of people’s egos, not their soul.” “You lost me,” I said.

Amanda tried to copy her decency, she craned her neck, as she skimmed her carefully. Mercy tittered and gushed. “don’t worry I will teach you.” She crooned Angela could barely hear them, her eyes looked at the stairs, she barely paid attention at them. She waited for them eagerly. they walked in; Melina marched on her hounds making a sharp click-clack as they walked down the stairs. Mercy looked mortified as she spoke to them. ‘‘it’s my mom, she loves wearing hounds, you will get used to the sound.’’ Her face said it all; she was pissed with that atmosphere; it must be really eating her up.

Adam lamented. “I’m just wondering if maybe we should get him inside and bolt the door. This might not be the safest place for him after all. She’s getting a might closer and some of those zombie spirits look like they’re coming back to life in a not too friendly way.” He studied the spirits who were once so animated but were now acting dazed and confused. A few of them were losing that dazed look. It was being replaced by one of intelligence and… Anger? Hate? He couldn’t tell.
