Get Out of the Cage

Get Out of the Cage

He then excitedly led her to the banquet hall. On the huge screen under the dome, many photos of her appeared. Outside, fireworks exploded with loud bangs, quietly blooming just beyond the large windows. Pink lilies lined the path, piled into the shapes of bears and made into flower baskets, decorating every corner of the banquet hall. In the open space, there were over a dozen stands, each displaying the titles of her works. Jamie knelt in front of Melanie on one knee. "Will you marry me, Mel?"

A Different Kind of Alpha: Blood Oath

A Different Kind of Alpha: Blood Oath

I just lift the latch and walk in. The room is dark and primal, a stark contrast to the rest of Silvercrest. There are no tapestries, no polished wood. Just stone, straw, and the sharp, coppery tang of old blood and feathers. Cages line the walls, and from the gloom, a dozen pairs of cold, yellow eyes track my movement. Falcons, hawks, and in the largest enclosure, two massive Golden Mountain Eagles. They ruffle their dark feathers, their hooked beaks clicking, their displeasure a palpable force.

A. D. K.
I feel like the story was drawn out and slow at some points, but overall it was good. I love Kieran and Alexei as a couple and how they interacted with the other characters. The only thing I would change is having them switch occasionally in the bedroom since Kieran is an alpha too.
Audrey

Caged by a King

Caged by a King

Elowen snapped. “I solve it by keeping you alive,” Corvin said. Elowen stepped closer, heat rising in his chest. “Alive where? In your rooms? In your sight? Or under your command?” Corvin’s jaw tightened. “Under my protection.” Elowen shook his head. “You dress it in softer words, but it is still a cage.” Corvin’s gaze did not waver. “A cage keeps predators out.” “And traps animals inside,” Elowen shot back.

The Goddess Vessel

The Goddess Vessel

The obsidian token was not visible, but his aura of cold menace was its own passport. I kept my head down, my heart hammering against my ribs. The Goddess's light within me was a caged sun, straining against my control. Every leering glance, every shouted proposition from the shadows, was a fresh assault. We turned down a narrower alley, the noise from the main thoroughfates fading slightly. A sign hung over a door ahead, depicting a beautiful songbird trapped in an ornate cage. The Gilded Cage. Two large guards flanked the door. They looked at the Architect, then at me. One gave a slow, knowing smile.

Trapped In My Husband’s Golden Cage

Trapped In My Husband’s Golden Cage

“I’ve written your story from the moment I saw your photograph to this very second. You thought you were fighting for freedom, but you were following my script perfectly. Every choice you made, every person you trusted, every moment you thought you were clever, was planned.” Her eyes widened as she read the document on the screen. "The Gilded Cage: How I Created the Perfect Victim," I said. "My memoir. I'm going to publish it next year, and it will naturally be a bestseller. I'll donate all proceeds to women's shelters. Delicious irony, don't you think?" "You're insane," Frieda whispered. “I’m an artist, and you’re my greatest work.” I sipped my champagne again. “You’ll live in comfort in my

Married To My Fiancé's Enemy

Married To My Fiancé's Enemy

The East Wing of the Sterling penthouse was a very lonely place. It was decorated in shades of dark grey and silver, a cold and quiet reflection of the man who had built it. For Lila, it didn't feel like a luxury apartment; it felt like a cage where she was meant to be forgotten. The sprawling rooms were filled with expensive furniture that had no soul, and the air always felt a few degrees too cold, as if the building itself knew she was an intruder.

The Dragon's Silent Shadow

The Dragon's Silent Shadow

He walked into the lion's den. The interior of the Gilded Cog was an assault on the senses. Chandeliers made of Aether-crystals cast a prismatic light over the main hall. The air was thick with the scent of lavender smoke and expensive perfume. In the center of the room, a circular bar revolved slowly, serving drinks that glowed in neon colors. The clientele were the masters of the new world: Merchant Princes in silk robes, arms dealers in reinforced suits, and courtesans with mechanical limbs plated in gold.

Dirty Valentine’s Secret

Dirty Valentine’s Secret

We were fighting for the truth of a bloodline that had been built on a lie. As we disappeared into the mangroves, leaving the police to claim Damian and the wreckage, I realized that the $230k-word journey was only just beginning. The "Gilded Cage" wasn't a penthouse in New York. It was a legacy. And we were going to burn it to the ground.

Caged Pheonix

Caged Pheonix

“Happy graduation, my love. Your very own art gallery.” Violet’s jaw nearly dropped. The inside was breathtaking, high ceilings, elegant lighting, and pristine white walls adorned with a mix of contemporary and classical artworks. Every corner seemed meticulously designed, and the faint scent of paint and polished wood lingered in the air. She turned to him, eyes shining. “Ethan… this is… too much. I can’t accept something like this. It’s enormous…”

The Cage of Mercy

The Cage of Mercy

I guessed that either the room was soundproof or I was in some remote place. I looked down at the heavy black shackles wrapped around my feet. "They're heavy." Realizing I was completely imprisoned, I thought I might die. The faceless man who had kidnapped me had, in my mind, transformed into a cruel murderer. The cruel murderer became a terrifying organ trafficker, and the organ trafficker became a grotesque cannibal who devoured people. That image changed dozens of times before the locked door finally creaked open, and a black silhouette entered. The moment he stepped in, the world twisted into black and white. It warped. Sparks crackled around his face, distorting the space.
